How much does a bike fit cost?
Bike fit prices vary a lot by country and studio, and they're rarely compared openly. Here are real price tiers we checked directly, what's typically included, what's almost always billed separately, and an honest look at where an app like RoadFitter fits in.
The short answer
Prices differ by market, so we're keeping currencies separate rather than forcing one number onto everyone: Germany typically €150–450, UK roughly £150–500, US roughly $125–550. A handful of premium packages with extra diagnostics (custom insoles, muscle function testing) go higher still. As of August 2026 — prices move, the order of magnitude usually doesn't.
Three tiers — roughly
Naming differs studio to studio, but three tiers keep showing up. We're naming tiers here, not studios — prices go stale, the structure behind them tends to hold up better.

Basis: real, directly checked studios and clinics — several German studios (Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, a nationwide chain), a UK fit studio plus a cited market range, and two US studios (a university sports medicine clinic and a Retül-certified fitter). As of August 2026. The UK Basic-tier lower end (£150) reflects published market guides — the studio we checked directly starts at £250.
What's included — and what's almost always extra
Video or 3D motion capture, pressure mapping, and a written report are usually reserved for the middle or top tier, not the basic package. Two things are billed separately at nearly every studio we checked:
- Follow-up sessions. A re-tune a few weeks later is rarely bundled into the base price — expect it to be billed separately. (In Germany, separate follow-ups typically run around €119–128; we didn't verify US or UK follow-up prices.)
- Hardware. A new saddle, stem, or custom insoles are always billed on top and never part of the base fit price.
What a studio can do that no app can
To be fair: a good studio fit offers plenty that no app — RoadFitter included — can replicate. Hands-on adjustment during the session, real pressure mapping, laser cleat alignment, an assessment of lateral axes (knee tracking, leg-length differences), and personal guidance on hardware choices. Those are things a side-on camera structurally cannot see, or an app cannot physically touch.
Does insurance cover it?
Generally not. Standard health insurance in Germany typically does not cover a bike fit; private supplementary plans may cover it case by case, usually only with a doctor's referral. In the UK and US, coverage through general health insurance is uncommon too — check with your own provider rather than assuming either way.
Where RoadFitter fits in

When to go straight to a studio
With persistent pain, numbness, after a crash, or with serious competitive ambitions, the direct route is a studio or a qualified professional — not an app. These cases need hands-on diagnostics, not self-measurement.
